Liz Assefi

Director, Corporate Initiatives

Liz Oberg Assefi is the Director for Corporate Initiatives at Business Roundtable, the association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. companies. She leads the organization’s work on scaling and promoting apprenticeship and work-based learning. Her portfolio also includes the Business Roundtable’s newest initiative on employee mental health. The initiatives she oversees are designed to ensure that America’s corporations play an effective part in advancing the interests of workers and communities across the country.

During her time at Business Roundtable, she has held various roles and has contributed to many high-profile announcements, activations, and campaigns. She played an integral role in the organization’s 50th anniversary campaign and its award-winning COVID-19 campaign, which highlighted the corporate response to the pandemic. She also played a key role in the 2024 Workforce Mental Health Summit, the 2018 CEO Innovation Summit, as well as the advocacy efforts surrounding the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Prior to the Roundtable, she worked at the White House in the Office of Communications. In this role she supported strategic communications efforts including tax reform as well as the President’s State of the Union Addresses.

Before her government service, she worked at the Republican National Committee and the Eisenhower Institute. She graduated cum laude from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
